It seems to me this has almost spread beyond control.
Nearing the point of no return.
As long as it continues to be taught to us from birth,
we’ll be blind to just how wrong they were.
The new leaf turned starts with us.
Those who came before failed to pass on,
the values needed to wipe out the plague.
The damage caused by years of fear over what they don’t understand.
Failure to comprehend all the hate they were fed.
Taking all the negative you were shown.
Mimicking everything wrong with your upbringing,
and pass it on, a sick tradition.
We’re not born into this world with prejudice so formed.
It can only be taught with time.
And it’s taking hold.
Time to break the cycle, form a new mould.
That’s free from all you wish that you could change.
Guitars so jagged you could cut yourself on them and sneering spoken/sung lyrics make “Red Dirt” a post-punk powerhouse. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 3, 2023
