Trapped in virtual versions of reality which is now a joke.
We make our stands in the safety of our homes.

Where no sacrifices need to be made.
With forged personas at centre stage.
Where you can be whoever you want to be.
Just not the shadow hiding behind the scenes.
Claim to be warriors fighting for truth.
Just as long as the gain outweighs what you could lose.
Just cowards who have found a way to spread their own brand of hate.

I can’t see a way out.
Good ideas are forever lost in a constant stream of misinformation that’s fed to us by people with a selfish cause.
Can we get back to a time when actions powered change.
When doing something meant more than voicing your opinion.
So take a step back.
Take a long hard look.
Are you still able to see yourself through all the fog.

So with the lights down low, who’s staring back at you.
Through the screens you hide behind protection from the truth.
A fear of missing out, a shameful waste of youth.
A misuse of power you flaunt in the faces of those who choose,
to truly sacrifice themselves selflessly for something that they believe.
Despite the chance they won’t succeed.
While you sit back on a throne you don’t deserve wasting away the day too afraid of getting hurt.

So step back from behind the screens you hide behind.
Realise to make a change face to face has its place.
